Our son Archie was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) at the age of two. We were devastated to discover that there was no known cure, just the possibility of a bilateral lung transplant.
We organised our first fundraising event, an auction at Daylesford Farm, in 2013. Our goal was to raise as much money as we could to supporting research to find a cure for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
We have since funded many research projects in the UK and across the globe, and now sponsor two research posts at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
In 2016 we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute (PVRI) which is a global organisation made up of medical clinicians and researchers representing leading minds in the field. The PVRI provide a framework to support researchers and medical experts to share their findings and work towards a common goal.
We are now the largest funder of specific research into PH in the United Kingdom.
Setting up this charity was prompted by a family crisis but through The Dinosaur Trust we have met many other families, fighting the same battle.
Our work to date fills us with confidence that together we can beat this disease!
Thank you for your support,
with faith, hope & love,
Jamie and Julia Strachan,
Parents of Archie and Founders of The Dinosaur Trust

Our Partnership with The PVRI
One Shared Goal – Two Organisations with patients at the heart of everything we do
The values of The PVRI and The Dinosaur Trust are strongly aligned. For both our organisations, focus is directed at improving patient care and finding new drugs and treatments for patients who suffer from pulmonary hypertension, with the vision of one day finding a cure.
The Dinosaur Trust is a patient organisation set up to raise funds, all of which are dedicated to funding research into pulmonary arterial hypertension. We work closely with the PVRI to ensure we are funding research projects that will make a difference and ultimately support our shared goal of a cure. Through our website and social channels we also hope to provide a supportive community for patients and families.
The PVRI is an international medical society aimed at professionals (doctors and scientists) to stimulate discussion and break-throughs in pulmonary vascular disease and pulmonary hypertension research and treatment. Its ultimate aim is to find a cure. Find out more about how we work with The PVRI.
